Xiaomi is testing new gesture controls for some of its smartphone models. The so-called “full screen gestures” have been added to the latest beta of MIUI 9, the company’s Android-based firmware.
When you pull up from the bottom of the screen, you will be taken to the Home screen. Add a short pause to the same movement and activate the “Last” screen. Finally, if you go from the left or right side of the screen to the center, you will be taken to a previous page.
It seems that Xiaomi was inspired by Apple, as Cupertino has implemented similar gesture controls on the iPhone X to compensate for the removal of the start button.
Full-featured gestures will be presented for the first time on the Xiaomi Mi MIX and Mi MIX 2 models in full-screen mode as well as on the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus phones.
