The Xiaomi Mi A1 debuted early this year with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. The phone comes with Android shares and is part of the Android One program, an initiative to bring affordable phones to emerging markets.
Earlier this month, the Chinese manufacturer launched the Android Oreo 8.0 beta testing program, which allowed the company to finalize the update before it was released to Xiaomi Mi A1 users around the world.
According to a new report, the latest beta version of Android 8.0 for the Mi A1 includes a number of enhancements, most notably the quick-charge support. Users may need a quick charger to use this feature. According to the report, the phone has gone from zero to 100 percent in 92 minutes, compared to more than two hours of charging time.
The report also mentions that the beta version also improved application load times and made the animations and enhancements for the camera smoother. All the standard features of Android 8.0 Oreo are included, including automatic support, picture-in-picture capabilities, updated configurations, performance enhancements, and more.
The company has promised that the update will be released before the end of the year. Therefore, consider the flight notification (OTA) on your device in the next few days.
