The Samsung Galaxy A5 is the kind of phone that amazes me why the vast majority of people should buy a flagship device. Finally, if a £ 369.99 device meets all the requirements, why pay more? For the first time, Samsung has brought convincing high-quality flagship DNA to the mid-range, making the A5 the first non-flagship mobile phone in the Korean company, easy to recommend.
If it’s not for some build quality and annoyance issues with the OnePlus 3T, this could be the perfect midrange phone.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Details
The Galaxy A5 (2017) contains, like all common galaxies, a Super AMOLED screen. Above all, the A5 lies diagonally between the 4.7-inch A3 (4.7) and the 5.7-inch A7 (2017) and the 5.2-inch panel has FullHD resolution. This corresponds to a density of 424ppi, but the layout of Diamond Pixel makes it less clear than a competing LCD with so many subpixels for each color. But it is pretty clear.

The screen can give you that AMOLED rhythm that has become synonymous with technology at the expense of color accuracy. In adaptive mode, the DeltaE average is 5.3 with red at 11.2, but also quite inaccurate targets. However, switch to the basic mode and get a perfectly calibrated display with an average DeltaE of only 2.0 and a maximum of 3.2. The modes “Cinema” and “Photo” are somewhere in between, regardless of the hovering of your boat.
The maximum brightness is excellent, especially if you use the automatic mode. In this case, the screen gets an amplification of the lighting conditions. However, last year’s model could pump more nits into automatic mode. Nevertheless, the numbers of the A5 (2017) at the height of the flagship S7: outstanding. The contrast is endless, it’s the Super AMOLED gift for you. With a minimum brightness of only 1.8 nits, you will not get tired during night scrolling sessions.
This is the starting point to play, you can even hide shortcuts to the game from the normal application drawer and have them only in the initiator of the game. A floating button provides essential functions: you can lock capacitive buttons (to prevent accidental pressing) Mute notifications, start recording a video and even a program selector.
You can save the game and add a video with a selfie camera if you want to upload to YouTube (although you can not stream live). You can select lower resolutions and bit rates if they are locked to memory.
Camera and memory
One of the key features of the Galaxy A5 (2017) is that it comes with two 16-megapixel shooters; one on the back and one on the front. The main handle also has an LED flash holder that helps in low light conditions.
To store all your pictures and other relevant data, there is 32 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by a microSD card up to 256 GB.
Battery and platform
The Galaxy A5 (2017) is powered by a non-removable 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery that can last a full day for a normal to moderate user. If that’s not enough, there’s also fast load support. By default, the device runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
