Google Pixel XL details

Introduction and design

Google has always released the new version of Android with its Nexus devices, but this year is different. Google has launched its two brand new devices, including Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL. The Google Pixel XL is the one with the larger screen between the two devices. Google has completely changed the design philosophy with these two devices this year.

Screen and camera

The Pixel XL is a 5.5-inch quad-HD device with AMOLED technology that gives the user a fantastic experience with intense blacks and incredible sharpness. The photography department includes a 12.3 megapixel rear-view camera with fast autofocus and anti-vibration technologies through image stabilization. In addition to slow motion video recording, the powerful camera hardware is capable of recording 2160p (4K) video while recording high-resolution images. However, the selfie camera is an improved 8 megapixel unit that can produce vibrant and dynamic selfies.

Software and performance

As always, Google’s flagship Android device comes with the new Android 7.1 Nougat, which was recently introduced with LG V20. The difference is that Google itself has added some features on the Android operating system. The Android device now has the ability to run two applications side-by-side, which gives this large-screen device better real-time multitasking. The Google Pixel XL has a Snapdragon 821 processor under the hood paired with 4GB of RAM. The device can provide exceptional graphics and processing performance. Internal memory is 32GB and there is no microSD card slot. Fortunately, Google Pixel does not contain any bloatware that provides most of its internal memory to the user.

Battery and connectivity

To keep the powerful hardware running throughout the day, the Google Pixel XL has a 3450 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, allowing you to vary the voltage to quickly charge the device without heating. The connection options remain the same as expected. The Google Pixel XL ships with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port for charging and syncing.
