Google has come a long way since the days of Nexus smartphones. This is just the second version of Google Pixel and shows how much the software and hardware of Google has developed in the last year. Both Pixel Smartphones have a refined but simpler look. This review is specifically for the biggest Pixel 2 XL. We will look at Pixel 2 smaller. This model is different from the smaller pixel 2. For starters, the Pixel 2 XL has a larger 6-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9, which surprised 2017. This and Pixel 2 get the XL battery 21% larger than the 5-inch Pixel 2. Google offers the latest Qualcomm processor in both pixels with a powerful HDR + algorithm for taking photos. Combine this with Google’s unprecedented Android experience, not to mention the unlimited storage of Google Photos with your official photo application and software updates directly from Google.

Google Pixel 2 XL Details

The Google Pixel 2 XL features a QHD + P-OLED 6 “screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. This screen is protected by a layer of “3D” glass Gorilla 5, which shrinks in its entirety protrudes beyond the frame of the phone. This is definitely an attractive design option from Google. The P-OLED panel of Pixel 2 XL offers a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. These specifications are up to 538 dpi, crisp, even with extreme pixel checking and many details for use with the Daydream VR headset. The phone provides a “screen size” setting that scales the user interface with a separate font size configuration.

The subpixel layout of the P-OLED screen is surprisingly familiar. This is the Diamond Pentile Matrix that can be seen on most other phones with AMOLED displays.

We measured a maximum brightness of 496 nits in our Pixel 2 XL review unit, which is a solid number and about 70 nits brighter than the original Pixel XL. There is no automatic brightness overdrive mode in bright light unlike Samsung phones that can go much further. Nevertheless, in combination with the deep blacks of the OLED technology, it guarantees an infinite contrast ratio as with Samsung AMOLED phones.

Google Pixel 2 XL offers many connectivity options. First of all, Google Pixel XL supports up to 15 LTE speeds (800/75 Mbps) [3 x DL CA, 4×4 MIMO technology, 256-QAM and 64-QAM DL UL depending on carrier support]. 3G 1/2/4/5/8 tapes and 2G quad-band networks are also compatible.

Google Pixel 2 XL supports CDMA Sprint and Verizon networks in the USU and all other US UU AND RANK GSM operators. Both Pixel Smartphones are also compatible with eSIM for use in Google’s Project Fi network in the US. For all other operators, a nanoSIM slot is fine. There is no microSD card slot in the SIM card slot.

The Google Pixel 2 also uses Bluetooth 5.0 + LE, WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac and 2×2 MIMO. NFC connectivity provides mobile payments through your preferred payment application and communication with other NFC devices, tags, and more.

There is a new feature for Wi-Fi as part of Android 8.0. Wi-Fi scans (typically used when Wi-Fi is turned off for easy location) are used to detect nearby Wi-Fi networks and automatically enable Wi-Fi and connect to a registered network when discovered conclude. We’re not sure how different it is to keep Wi-Fi turned on all the time, but that’s fine.

Life test

The battery capacity has a slight increase compared to the previous generation (~ 2% increase). The Pixel 2 XL has a non-removable, 3.520-mAh lithium-ion power supply, a battery large enough to power the large 6-inch QHD display. In contrast, the LG V30 has a slightly smaller battery with 3,300 mAh.

The battery’s resistance was pretty good with the Pixel 2 XL. Although the overall score is better, not all aspects of battery life have been improved.

In our endurance tests the Pixel 2 XL collected 26: 58h talk time, 10: 29h web browsing and 11:45 video playback. The talk time in the new Pixel 2 XL was about 7 hours shorter than last year in Pixel XL.

Performance and camera

For those who love pictures, the camera has a 12.2-megapixel rear-view camera that can capture pictures and videos even in the dark with a two-color LED flash. On the front, to support video calls and selfies, the smartphone has an 8 megapixel front grip.
To enable multi-game performance and uninterrupted gaming, your smartphone is equipped with a 2.35 GHz Snapdragon 835 octa-core chipset with 4GB of RAM.
